AHHH - LASKA

I WENT ON A VACATION & CAME BACK TO CLEANING, PREPPING & GETTING READY TO SEND THE LITTLE ONE OFF TO COLLEGE.

Can I cry now? I don’t dare show the kid my teary eyes or the new gray hairs that have popped up in my head. Right now she must think I am the over-bearing, nagging mom. Remember this, you need that, don’t forget…. Blah blah blah.  One day she will realize I meant well, right?  We have been finishing up projects so we can sell on etsy & buying books. We are all going to school this coming semester. Let me repeat that WE are ALL going to school this fall. The husband, the kid & I. Gulp!  More on that later.
For now lets go back to Alaska.

I have been to Alaska twice now & I have to say that its was better the 2nd time around. Not that the first time wasn't great. I got to meet my sister-in-law for the first time, but this time it seemed much more  relaxing, and the very thought that our cell phones didn’t work half the time & we didn’t watch TV made it that much better. There is nothing like family time, good conversation & fresh air. Everything is so picturesque, which makes walking that much more inviting. The days are long and the weather was perfect. Of course we didn’t completely escape the heat, however we did escape the Texas 100+ degree weather.  I was able to go fishing in the cold river & caught nothing except great laughs & a beautiful pictures. Time stopped while we were up there. Wished it felt like that on our way back. 16 hours between, airport check in, flight time & time change. Our bodies were beat & our brains were fried.
Our silly family picture!  It was super hot!

We like to be a little crazy!!

It's back to reality. Getting ready to send a kid off to college, to be empty nesters, & to both start over & go back to school for nursing.  My blog maybe starting to take a little twist, but it's won't veer off too much! I still have to revamp my garden & make it squirrel proof. Not to mention tell you how fabulous the big 4-0 party is going to be. So here goes.  Next stop - prepping for a college student.
